Well as a Missouri sports fan it has been a brutal weekend. Saturday my Missouri Football Tigers were blown out by Texas. Sunday my St Louis Rams humiliated by Indianapolis. I know the Rams are TERRIBLE but I am a loyal guy. I was screaming from the rooftops when they came to St Louis and won a Super Bowl. So I support them now, albeit with a bag over my head. I am playing a slight game of catchup on personal marketing endeavors as I took a freelance marketing research job from a former colleague. I did some online research for a public relations proposal being submitted by his firm to a major British technological information services company. The funny thing is I HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE. My former colleague happened to hear through the grapevine that I was doing fairly well for myself as an independent marketer and bounced some ideas off of me. After my input he offered me the job. His jaw dropped when I quoted my rate even though I gave him the old friend discount. What it turned into was a 6 page MS Word insert to be dropped into an adobe document that had already been created. Final cost $350 to him, time spent by myself 2 hours and 20 minutes. My point is I am no marketing expert but I AM A MARKETER. What this means is the information and knowledge that I have gained independently marketing products and services is of value. I know more about marketing than most people and that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! He was blown away by the trends research I was able to do in seconds with Google Trends. I almost felt bad taking the money, but I know that I had to discover Google Trends by myself in order to utilize it. I used the Google Trends traffic graphs and news reference trends graphs for 5 keywords with the highest search volume pertinent to the company's website. I added a search volume bar graph and some minor sales copy work emphasizing the statistics. If I was to be able to earn a $155 an hour for that kind of work I might make a career change. On second thought, no I wouldn't because I would have to be tied to my PC. The beautiful thing about internet marketing is 1 really successful campaign or product launch and you could earn a cool million. If you have spent 60 minutes educating yourself in internet marketing or any niche or field. You already have more knowledge than a person that knows nothing about it. Knowledge=Value=Money if utilized correctly. I lived that this weekend. I hope this helps.
See You At The Top
